Welcome to the Durham County Golf Union

As the men's Governing Body of amateur golf in County Durham, the Durham County Golf Union devotes its resources primarily to the administration of county championships and team competitions as well as county teams and coaching programmes.


The DCGU is affiliated to England Golf, the country's National Governing Body (NGB) of amateur golf and carries out course measurement and rating duties on their behalf across the 44 affiliated clubs in County Durham. 


The County Secretary acts as registrar for the County Membership Scheme and also administers the Senior County Card and English County Card scheme's which provide benefits such as the privilege of playing in County Salver competitions and discounted green fees.


Through its involvement with the County Golf Partnership, the DCGU supports the county's 44 affiliated clubs in the recruitment and retention of new golfers of all ages into the regular participation and membership.

Durham Boy's Champion Chris Handy wins the England Golf Champion of Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa.

Heworth beat Seaton Carew in Clark Cup Final

6th September 2015

In a tight final at The Wynyard Club, Heworth came out on top by 3-2 to win this years Clark Cup.
