Welcome to the Durham County Golf Union

The Durham County Golf Union devotes its resources to the administration of amateur golf in Durham. 

Its work covers the assessment of courses for Standard Scratch Scores, handicapping, County Championships, inter-club matchplay events, junior golf and provides advice and guidance on a wide range of golf-related subjects.

The 2009 fixtures have now been released. Please check these dates so you never miss your favourite competition again.

At the AGM which was held on Wednesday 20th January 2010, Mr Harry Willis (Ryton) was elected President for the second year.

Mr Clyde Camp (Crook) was elected to the position of President Elect.

Mr Derek Olley(Billingham) and Mr Norman Brown (Durham City) were re-elected to position of Vice Presidents.

Mr George Crawford (Castle Eden) was elected to Vice President.

Mr Gordon Hodgson (Garesfield), Mr Michael Sample (Eaglescliffe) and Mr John Sanderson (Beamish Park) were re-elected to the County Executve for a further four years.

Mr Les Inskip (Beamish Park) was again re-elected as County Treasurer.

In 2010 the County Executive will only allow players with active handicaps to enter County competitions
