Consett & District's John Kennedy achieved a remarkable wire-to-wire victory at the Senior Amateur Championship at Walton Heath. Carding an 11-under-par total of 277, he secured the title by an impressive seven shots.
The tournament was played across both the Old and New courses at the renowned Surrey venue. The stellar win saw Kennedy—who works full-time as a compliance manager for the Automobile Association—finish seven strokes clear of a high-profile trio: USA's Todd White and Danny Nelson, alongside Ireland's Jody Fanagan.
This incredible championship triumph highlighted a phenomenal run of form for Kennedy, which also included a victory at the Scottish Senior Men's Open and ultimately led to him being crowned the England Senior Men's Order of Merit Champion.
