Durham County Golf Union

Can you help support Junior Golf in Durham County?
We are looking to recruit two volunteers to help run our Junior golf competitions.
These are very important roles in structure and purpose of the County Juniors Section. We are committed to running competitions in the County of Durham for the continuance and improvement of our Junior Golfers by giving them the opportunity to play different courses around the county.
We are looking for people who can give some time to support the running of these events, most of which are held during the school / college holiday periods and occasional weekends.
Whilst some knowledge of golf would help, there are administrative roles where such knowledge is not vital.
We would welcome any volunteer who has some knowledge or understanding of I.T. and/or of the impact of social media in the lives of our young golfers.
There are however certain conditions that must be met, in that the post holders will need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check carried out and they will also need to undergo a certain amount of safeguarding training / guidance. Both will be managed by the county as part of the ongoing training that all our volunteers in this area undertake.
Further details or queries regarding these posts can be obtained from the County’s Junior Chairman.
Expressions of interest along with a short list of experiences in this sector should be forwarded to the County Junior Chairman, Peter Greenwell, via email at, no later than 1st of February 2022.
