Edward G. Bunting - DCGU Past President

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Edward Bunting our longest serving Past President passed away at the weekend at the age of 84. Edward joined the County Executive in 1974 and in the years since has been Chairman of Coaching, County Captain and County President. Add these honours to many more at his beloved Seaton Carew GC, the Teeside & District Union, Northern Counties Golf Union as well as his membership of the R&A and it is easy to understand why he will be remembered with both great fondness and much respect for all he has given the game of Golf.

WHS Club Update Webinar 1st December

It has now been two weeks since the World Handicap System was introduced, during which time clubs have been getting to grips with their WHS platform and members with their EG account registration and the MyEG App.

To further support clubs during the transition, the DCGU will deliver a WHS webinar for Durham club officials on Tuesday 1st December which will give an update on anything new, answers to the most commonly asked questions and a demo of some of the key club functions on the WHS platform. There will also be some time to answer any general WHS questions anyone has on the day.

There will be two sessions (of the same webinar) to accommodate all those club secretaries/managers and handicap secretaries who wish to attend on Tuesday 1st December at 11:00 and 18:30. Each is expected to last 60-90 minutes depending on how many questions there are.

All Durham clubs were emailed the links to both sessions on 17.11.20, to pass on to appropriate officials/volunteers responsible for competitions and handicapping within the club.

Should the links need to be forwarded once more, please contact

Those joining on a phone or tablet are best to download the zoom app in advance. Those using a laptop or pc can join using their browser.
