Welcome to the Durham County Golf Union
As the men's Governing Body of amateur golf in County Durham, the Durham County Golf Union devotes its resources primarily to the administration of county championships and team competitions as well as county teams and coaching programmes.
The DCGU is affiliated to England Golf, the country's National Governing Body of amateur golf and carries out course measurement and slope rating duties on their behalf across the 43 affiliated clubs in County Durham. Th County Body acts as the area authority for the R&A Rules of Golf and Rules of Handicapping.
The County Secretary acts as registrar for the County Membership Scheme and administrator of the County Card scheme, which provide affiliated club members with benefits such as the privilege of playing in County Salver competitions and discounted green fees.
Through its involvement with the County Golf Development Group, the DCGU supports the county's affiliated clubs in the recruitment and retention of new golfers of all ages into the regular participation and membership.
This website also includes information on the History and Executive of the Durham County Golf Union as well as Competitions, Results, News and the various County Members and Cards Schemes on offer.
